Primalba

Primalba is a new raspberry variety, remontant with upright growth, early ripening, tasty, large, bright red fruits and very productive and excellent variety for mechanical harvesting.

Primalba has extremely large fruits, average weight 6g, compact, conical shape, intensive bright red color and excellent traits for storage freezing. The taste of the fruit is very pleasant with a high content of antioxidants and it is very suitable for industrial processing.

Primalba is a lush raspberry variety with very firm, upright shoots that are easy to handle, making it an excellent machine-harvested variety for freezing with over 90% first-class fruit.

Harvesting season for Primalba starts at the end of July and it is harvested until late autumn, and it can be harvested twice, i.e. in spring and autumn, if the harvest is done by hand.

Harvesting season for Primalba starts in lower areas around July 10, and in higher areas around July 20. Harvesting takes longer than other varieties, until late autumn, i.e. the first frosts.

Primalba is perfect for selling in fresh condition because the fruits retain their bright red color very well, have an excellent taste and they maintain fresh for a long time. They can be harvested twice a year, from mid-summer to the late autumn, and if the shortened annual shoots are left in the spring, they are harvested in May and June of the same year.

Primalba is an excellent variety for freezing with over 90% of first-class fruit, and the price is identical to other varieties. Production and harvesting costs are significantly lower with a long harvesting season which lasts 3-4 months.

Primalba is a lush raspberry variety with very firm, upright shoots that are easy to manipulate and they are therefore excellent for mechanical harvesting. Planting is done in the spring at a spacing of 0.3 x 2.5 m (12,000 pcs/ha) for manual harvesting, and for machine harvesting with a spacing of 0.3 x 3 m (10,000 pcs/ha).

Planting varietal pure, certified and healthy planting material and the application of all agrotechnical measures in an average year, in a full crop, can ensure a yield of 15-20 t/ha manually harvested, and if it is done according to the system of two harvests, autumn-spring, with intensive nutrition, the yield is over 30 t/ha. Yields mechanically harvestied range from 10-15 t/ha, depending on the type of harvester, weather conditions and preparation of plantings.
