Primalba is a new raspberry variety, remontant, upright growth, early ripening, tasty, large, bright red fruits, very productive and excellent for machine harvesting.
Primalba has extremely large fruits, average weight 6g, compact, conical shape, bright bright red color and excellent storage properties for freezing. The taste of the fruit is very pleasant with a high content of antioxidants and as such it is very suitable for industrial processing.
Primalba is a lush raspberry variety with very firm, upright shoots that are easy to handle, making it an excellent machine-harvested variety for freezing with over 90% first-class fruit.
Primalba arrives for harvesting at the end of July and is harvested until late autumn, and it can be harvested twice, i.e. in spring and autumn, if the harvest is done by hand.
Primalba pristiže na branje u nižim predelima zapadne Srbije oko 10. jula, a u višim oko 20. jula. Ubiranje plodova traje duže u odnosu na druge sorte, i to do kasne jeseni, odnosno prvih mrazeva.

Primalba can be sold excellently in fresh condition because the fruits retain their bright red color very well, have an excellent taste and are kept fresh for a long time. They can be harvested twice a year, from mid-summer to late autumn, and if the shortened annual shoots are left in the spring, they arrive for picking in May and June of the same year.
Primalba is an excellent variety for freezing with over 90% first class fruit, and the price is identical to other varieties. Production and harvesting costs are significantly lower with a long harvest lasting 3-4 months.
Primalba ima odličnu tolerantnost na bolesti i preporučuje se sadnja na povrsinama do 1.000 m nadmorske visine. Nije osetljiva na mraz, jer se na jesen po završetku branja svi izdanci prekose do površine zemlje i sklone sa parcele. Narednog proleća izbijaju novi izdanci koji daju plodove od polovine jula, pa do jeseni. Otporna je na gljivično oboljenje korenovog sistema Phytophthora. Još uvek nema pronađenih primeraka sa Agrobacterium tumefaciens koji se javlja na korenovom sistemu biljaka koje su pod stresom, odnosno gde je kiselo zemljište, sabijena (tvrda) struktura zemljišta, gde ima nedostatak hrane, preteranu vlagu ili nedostatak vlage u zemljištu što izazaiva stresne uslove a time i neotpornost biljke.
Primalba je bujna sorta maline sa veoma čvrstim podignutim izdancima kojima se lako manipuliše i zbog toga je odlična za mašinsku berbu. Sadnja se obavlja u proleće u razmaku od 0,3 x 2,5 m (12.000 kom/ha) za ručnu berbu, a za mašinsku berbu sa razmakom od 0,3 x 3 m (10.000 kom/ha). Preporučuje se da se vezuje na špalir, ako je ručna berba, i ostavlja se 6-7 izdanaka po dužnom metro, a nikako više od 8 izdanaka, jer u suprotnom, ako bude veći broj izdanaka biće velika masa biljaka. Onda će sigurno biti i slabije oprašivanje, sitniji plodovi, teža berba, manji prinosi, više problema sa bolestima, insektima i grinjama.
Sadnja sortno čistog, sertifikovanog i zdravstveno ispravnog sadnog materijala i primena svih agrotehničkih mera u prosečnoj godini, u punom rodu može obezbediti prinos kod ručne berbe od 15 – 20 t/ha, a ako se radi po sistemu dve berbe, jesen-proleće, uz intezivnu ishranu prinos je i preko 30 t/ha. Prinosi kod mašinske berbe se kreću 10-15 t/ha zavisno od tipa berača, vremenskih uslova i pripreme zasada.
